These are the very special horses that will be with us for life. In most cases they have either undergone such abuse and neglect that they can never recover wholly from, are geriatrics or have some sort of disability which makes them unplaceable. Any horse that is available, that for whatever reason does not get adopted also has a home with us forever.
It costs an average of $150.00 to feed a horse for one month. This only includes hay and grain. Add to that medical, farrier, dental, chiropractic, massage and training/exercise and it is practical to estimate $300.00+ a month expense, per horse. Please sponsor a horse today. For less than $1.00 per day, you can help these horses live out their days comfortably.

Pru when he arrived 2003!
Pru is the ruler of the barn and Terry's heart. He is an awesome 15.2hd, grey, 27yr old stallion of Aswan breeding. He is by Procent out of Pandora (Aswan). He was the true founder of The Arabian Rescue Mission, started in 2003. He still stands proudly at stud, but his book is limited to only two outside mares of approved Russian Bloodlines (Padron, Kilimandsharo or Muscat). He crosses well on both Russian, Polish and Egyptian lines, with the confirmation and temperament to improve on any breeding.

Pru 7 months after arrival!

Bekas is the other ruler of the barn and Terry's soul. He is of Kuheilan type, big-bodied, 15.3hds and stands proudly at 29 years old. He is not available for outside breedings. He has been with us since 2005 and we are honoured to have him here. He was imported by Ventura Farms from the Janow Podlowski Stud in Poland. He brings size, temperament and correctness to any foal he sires. He is by *Etap out of Beatrice.

The picture that started the rescue on its original mission, a herd of horses in Washington state!
Elle started life as a pampered princess at Ventura Farms then fell on hard times. Once again, she is a princess here. She has produced one awesome filly for us by Prudent. Look for her next year. Elle is 21yrs old, 14.3hds, pure Polish and pure sweetness. She is by Wisdom out of Elstera and the famous E line of mares.
Elle 2 years after arrival and rehabilitation with daughter, Emma!

Sierra is a 14.2hd chestnut mare of perfection. She is so sweet, gentle, kind and intelligent. She won the heart of our partner, friend and massage therapist, Kristen and so she now has her ideal home; her own person, while still with us for life. She is by "Nanit (Kilimandsharo) our of a beautiful imported Padron daughter. ADOPTED by our own Massage Therapist, Kristen!

Skye on arrival 6/05!
SkyE is the dutchess of the farm. At just 14.2hds and 24 yrs young, she is our resident babysitter. She is a Padron daughter and very much resembles her father, just smaller. She can be found at any time teaching Emma manners.
Mirage is our petite blonde. She is such a light bay, she would actually be considered a dun in any other breed. She stands 14.1hds is 20yrs old by Enrilo out of a Strike daughter. was rescued from abuse at a young age and still bears the scars of that abuse.
Charlie Tuna was not a rescue, per se. When we moved our facility from Stillwater to Wantage, the owners of the Stillwater farm asked us to take him with us so he would not be alone. (We had planned to anyway). Charlie is a 15.2hd, 28 yr old TWH x Morgan gelding and totally blind from severe Cushings Syndrome. He does nothing but babysit Dahli and bring us joy. We had to teach him that it was okay for a gentleman to retire and still have dignity.
Grasshopper is our resident "grandpa". He is as wide as he is tall. Standing at only about 10hds and being a very young 35 years old, he tells each horse his sad tale of his BFF Benji, who passed on. Every time he tells his story they let him have grain. Very entertaining to watch. This boy knows his job, babysitting our junior-junior riders, and does it extremely well.
Hero is just turning 7 and is a lovely dark brown TB mare. Rescued off the track by our friend Marion, she had shattered her leg during her last start. After two surgeries and lots of pins and screws, she is now healthy and sound. Co-owned by one of our boarders and supporters, Darby, she has been with us for 3 years and will have a home with us for life.
Rosie is a lovely bay Polish Arabian rescued from Washington with Pru, Elle, Bekas, Prudenta and Nega. She is semi-retired, but was our beginner lesson horse. At 22 years old, she is second in command to Sobutka and Delilah.
Grasshopper getting ready for work. He takes good care of our juniors, like Stevie!
